Coming from Southern California, The Rhythm Krewe started in 1990 as Floyd & The Flyboys, founded by singer, guitar player and songwriter Steve Zelman, who assembled a nine-musicians group to perform and pay tribute to the greatest blues, soul and rhythm and blues hits that deeply had marked them when they were young.  and compose own material too. All the names he selected were already recognized artists or really demanded studio musicians who had played or recorded with Ray Charles, Santana, The Temptations or The Eagles. For them, to belong to that band was a way to play the music and songs they most liked and of course have fun and enjoy what they were doing.

The chemistry among all musicians was immediate and they soon developed an extensive repertoire that included classic covers and forgotten pearls of blues, soul, rhythm and blues, jump, jive, swing and roots-rock music.

After a few years of touring and performing in festivals, clubs, cafes, restaurants, TV shows and series, now The Rhythm Krewe have just released their first album with nine Steve Zelman’s own compositions plus three versions “She Moves Me” coming from Johnny “Guitar” Watson, “She’s Murder” by St. Louis Jimmy Oden and “Her Mind Is Gone” by Professor Longhair.

A totally exciting and surprising album, with an impressive and enviable quality, which should not go unnoticed by anyone who wants to enjoy a good exciting session of the most stimulating music.
