Following the tradition of those last century old ‘reverends’ but much more irreverent than those ones, here comes the last work of Reverend Freakchild who often plays on solo format but also with band, as happens in this recording Despite he drinks of rural blues and gospel sources, he has an unclassifiable style, he defines it as ‘hillbilly zen-punk blues’ and this definition is the one that gives title to the album Of the ten album songs seven are Reverend Freakchild’s own compositions and the other three are one of band member Hugh Pool, the second one comes from Reverend Gary Davis and the third one is a traditional song arranged by Reverend Freakchild With all these songs our man communicates what could be defined as a religious philosophical conception, which is an important part of his experience as person and musician Reverend Freakchild sings and plays guitar while Chris Parker is on drums and percussion, Hugh Pool on lap steel guitar and harmonica, Tugboat Eustis on drums, John Ragusa on flute and The Mulebone Singers put their vocal arrangements in some cuts Although his attitude may seem irreverent and counter cultural, his enthusiasm and passion for the blues are really undeniable
