The Retro DeLuxe is a band with vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, bass and acoustic bass, drums and percussion, plus piano and organ in eight of the sixteen tracks included in the album All songs have been written by singer Bobby Joe Owens, who signs them as Robert J Thompson The band aim is to get forties old Chicago blues spirit back, based on pre-war Delta blues and also in a retro rockabilly coming from fifties old Memphis, which give them a convincing genuine musical spontaneity Besides, all the musicians involved play with passion, honesty and extreme good taste The sound they get is original, mainly thanks to the production effects by Jimbo Mathus, who is also the band drummer and percussion player as well as a well known blues musician in Clarksdale, Mississippi area Engineer Justin Showah and final arrangements coming from guitar player Zac Sweeney and the rest of Retro DeLuxe band musicians have done a very good work too
