Here come two interesting good albums The first one arrives from René Solis, The Nitecry singer, guitar player and song writer, recorded under his own name, and the second one gathers the whole band altogether Resurrection is a compilation of fourteen selected songs belonging to different albums and record labels like Blue Note or 20/20 Records The recordings included were done between 1988 and 2001 plus some previously unissued songs In short words you will find an accurate highly recommended selection of good blues The second cd comes from The Nitecry They sound totally teamed, powerful and more inspired than ever along twelve perfectly conceived and displayed own songs with an excellent final production Careful effective vocal arrangements and an amazing horn section, most similar San Francisco bands will certainly love to have, give a cool elegant atmosphere to the styles they perform, which are mainly Memphis soul and West Coast jump The result becomes evident since the first notes of the opening song Sinking Like A Stone written by singer and keyboard player Richard Palmer, to the last song included, E Ticket Ride written by René Solis himself Two impressive cds, which will give you a totally crazy joy
