At King Electric is the new recording of this storyteller, composer, singer and guitar player called Ray Bonneville, where he shows himself as a terrific but at the same time restrained musician who always knows how to create a relaxed intimate atmosphere that, sometimes, could make us remember such great musicians like Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Tony Joe White, Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed or JJ Cale He has lived as a troubadour and a globetrotter and has taken his songs from his native Quebec to every corner of United States For him the songs he writes and his audience are like his own children he needs to feed and take care, both physically and spiritually Ray is always willing to please all those people who listen to him, not only when he is on stage but also in all the albums he releases In this last recording, Ray Bonneville’s voice, guitars and harmonica are well supported by some good musicians who really contribute to create a music that could be described like gun powder or opium, because sometimes it sounds flaming and explosive and other times languid and melodic, but always inside the frame of an elegant tasteful country folk he performs with a mastery technique
