Born in 1943 in Yorkshire, Ray Austin moved In 1970 to Freiburg, Germany, where he founded the Folk & Blues Club In 1973 he began to play as singer and composer and he published five records During all these years Ray has continued running a music pub and working presenting music in German radio and television Now he plays trumpet in two different jazz bands and he also sings, plays guitar and harmonica in a country-folk-blues band simply named Friends German label Wonderland which, if I am not wrong, is a division of Acoustic Records, now publishes this album where Ray Austin gives free rein to all his love to folk, acoustic rock and country music, paying homage to some of his most favourite composers in these styles like John Prine, Ralph McTell or Bert Jansch, on a total of seventeen songs, four of them own compositions This is an album with an intimate bucolic atmosphere, able to calm body, soul and spirit, providing the necessary peace needed in these troubled times we live in You will also find such relaxing instruments like dobro, mandolin, violin or accordion along the whole recording
