This is a new piece of work by one of my favourite Canadian singers and harmonica players You My People brings us thirteen fantastic samples that show the performing talent of this wild blower, in mostly own compositions, some others done together with different great Canada song writers, and a couple of covers, Ray Charles’ All To Myself and Muddy Waters’ Gipsy Woman It is a superb album where Raoul has included a wide range of his repertoire, from jump to Chicago blues, that show his knowledge, versatility and good taste in contents displayed along this excellent record Besides, his Big Time are a well teamed professional band, which becomes evident from the first notes of the opening tune The result is a careful work with a final production done with an extreme good taste, knowledge, love and respect for the music he plays It is and additional pleasure to listen to guest musicians, such as Junior Watson on guitar or Mark Hummel In short words, a cool attractive album with a faultless musical selection
