Following his father’s footsteps, Randy McAllister learned to play drums when he hardly was a teenager When he was twenty years old he went to Massachusetts to serve the Air Forces There he toughened himself as harmonica player, singer and composer Back to his native Texas, he surprised audiences by the maturity and the strength he had got during all that time outside home Today Randy has become a genuine force of nature, a real whirlwind that dazzles us with his stunning setting in scene, as well as with his vocal qualities and the originality of his compositions, both in the musical conception and lyrics In this album McAllister sings and plays harmonica and he is backed by The Scrappiest Band In The Moreland, with Rob Dewan on guitar, Matt Higgins on bass and the sweet naïve Maya Van Nuys on fiddle in a cut, plus a handful of guest musicians who give a bright firm envelope to twelve Randy McAllister’s original compositions In short words, this is an enjoyable album with a bunch of interesting songs fulfilled with the most genuine spirit of Americana roots music
