Blues and the most popular Indian music like is Raga are mixed with a remarkable good taste in this album by Argentinian guitar player now settled in Madrid, Flaco Barral, raga performer and singer Carlos Guerra who, in this album, plays bansuri (a long and thick flute) and Navaraj Gurung on Indian table, this last one was born in Nepal and comes from a family with a wide musical tradition It is not very common to find in the record market a such experimental recording like this one, but the true thing is the understanding among these three musicians is excellent, because they have been able to combine with an extreme good taste two so different musical styles like are blues and ragas, reaching a perfect fusion of both genres, which makes this album become a really interesting and intimate work, full of moments of great musical beauty While listening to it, it came to my mind my teenager years, I have smelt back those far east scents like patchouli, I have also remembered Ravi Shankar’s show at Palau de la Música, although in this album there is no sitar, or my old John Mayall’s records I have also thought about my ‘hata yoga’ sessions of those years or the personal mantra a maharishi gave me during a meeting in Barcelona and other those old years happy things My advice is you should get a copy of the album and listen to it sitting in a lotus position savouring a delicious dish of a ‘tikkan masala lamb’ and a hot ‘nan’, drinking black tea and burning a sandalwood With all these ingredients and the music of this suggestive album, you will feel the need to read a Lobsan Rampa book, while Shiva, Krishna and Vishnu enlighten your daily life
