After a good number of years playing bass in different groups to move forward later on to form his own band which led him to record with them a couple of albums up to date, now Basque musician R.Jon’s surprises us with a new cd entitled “Moments” that has been recorded at his home, where he plays guitar and bass, besides singing and composing the seven songs included, although the song “Put Your Feet On The Ground” is certainly based on a Robert Johnson’s composition, while the opening one “The End Of A Line” could have been written by JJ Cale or even Tony Joe White. Drums are performed by Adrián Carrera who gives a well-crafted and structured support to the leader’s work. Jon Regil, which R.Jon’s real name, gives us a more than interesting recording where he develops a mixture of blues and a very intimist personal jazz, performed on a clear relaxed tone and sound, perfect to savor it comfortably while you are sitting in your favorite home armchair with a cup of wine on your hands.
