The music passion of singer, songwriter and piano player Chris McCaa, also known as Professor Porkchop, comes since he was nine years old, when he went for the first time to a live show of The Shreveport Symphony, that presented some jazz musicians like Dave Brubeck and Gerry Mulligan From that very first moment Chris decided he would devote his life to music, and thus has been so far The Professor is now one of the most requested and recognized keyboard players of New Orleans scene So far, Chris has enjoyed a long career, leading various bands like The Insatiables, The Red Hots or ‘A’ Train, to name a few of the most popular ones He has also opened for such great names like BB King, Keb Mo, Jimmy Vaughn, Bo Diddley or Asleep at the Weel In this last work Professor Porkchop gives us eleven songs where to discover the talent and maturity of a musician who knows the keys he plays and, what is even more difficult, how to play them and do it from the perspective of his knowledge of Louisiana music roots This is a real treasure that, thanks to his voice, his piano and his Hammond B-3, he and his musicians catch up to bring it as a true gift, to anyone who wants to listen to it
