Besides a remarkable producer and sound engineer, Professor Louie is a versatile musician who sings and plays Hammond B-3, organ, accordion and piano.

For many years Louie has produced, recorded and participated as a musician with the legendary The Band, until Rick Danko’s death, who precisely was the one who gave him the nickname of “Professor Louie”, besides producing or playing with such great artists like Graham Parker, Commander Cody, Dave Brubeck, Levon Helm, Blondie, José Feliciano, Guy Davis, Buckwheat Zydeco or Rory Block among many others. Today Professor Louie is an appreciated and respected musician by a legion of fans who deeply admire him.

This album becomes a good and tasteful example of what has been called American roots music, where Professor Louie has included eleven own compositions written in in collaboration with Marie Spinosa who also participates in the album graphics and mixing, besides singing, playing percussion and whistling. The rest of the Crowmatix are Professor Louie (The Band) on vocals, keyboards, Hammond and accordion, Gary Burke (Bob Dylan, Joe Jackson) on drums and horn arrangements, John Platania (Van Morrison) on guitars, Frank Campbell (Levon Helm) on bass, plus the special collaboration of The Woodstock Horns in three songs.

An excellent recording for all those who like and are interested to discover the whole and real spirit of American roots music.
