Peter Storm & the Blues Society belong to the new generation of Portuguese blues bands. In 2022 they have represented Portugal at the European Blues Challenge held in Malmö, where they showed that blues in Portugal has a good health.

Led by singer and guitar player Joao Belchior, the recording includes eight songs where they combine some own compositions with versions, on a tour that shows the various facets of blues, performed with reliability, naturality and a very unaffected and actual air. However, it is on stage where they feel totally at ease, catching the audience with their passion for blues and the wish to have fun and give joy and happiness to all the people who regularly come to their gigs.

Together with Joao Belchior you will also find Bino Ribeiro on guitar, harmonica and vocals (much better guitar player than harp player), José Reis on bass and vocals and Jorge “Mr. Shuffle” Oliveira on drums, percussion and vocals.

Anyone who believes that you can only listen to fados or melodic songs in the path of Salvador Sobral and blues is a completely forgotten music in Portugal, are completely wrong. Peter Storm & The Blues Society show us the vitality and validity of Portuguese blues.
