Pavlov’s Dog was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, in the early 70’s as a rock band with some touches of folk music. Soon they became a cult band. Unfortunately, their life was short because by 1977 they fell apart. However, the leader, singer, guitar player and songwriter David Surkamp always believed and trusted in their musical possibilities, and, in 1990, he worked again with one of the original group members, Doug Rayburn, to record the album “Lost In America”. But it wasn’t until the 2000’s when David Surkamp brought together a new generation of musicians to continue with the musical legacy of that legendary band called Pavlov’s Dog. Led again by Surkamp, the group has managed to again get a place in the progressive rock scene.

Half a century after the release of their first album “Pampered Menial”, the band confirms that David Surkamp was right and his proposal is still valid in today’s rock scene. Their repertoire continues to be a mixture of progressive rock with touches of folk and even some classical music, that will surprise listeners with the creativity, performance quality and a sometimes-dramatic tone that has survived over the years.

The eleven songs that make up this album, not only confirm the experience of all the musicians involved but also highlight their contribution with new ideas that enrich their music, they develop with precision, that confirm the old wolf’s smell of a man called David Surkamp, every time he bet on a project he always has firmly believed about.

The band line-up now includes David Surkamp on vocals, six- and twelve-string acoustic and electric guitar, Sara Surkamp on vocals, Phil Ring on electric guitar, Abbie Steiling on electrified and acoustic 5-string violin, Rick Steiling on bass and percussion, Mark Maher on piano, organ and synthesizers and Steve Bunck on drums. Also mention a series of good guest musicians, who have also collaborated in the recording.
