Excellent accoustic album coming from Spanish singer and guitar player Tonky de la Peña He was born in Madrid and he has become habitual on bars and clubs scenes all over Spain, with more than twenty five years of experience This time Tonky backs Paul Orta’s voice and harmonica, a respected blues musician who comes from Porth Arthur, Texas Both musicians have produced a totally classic and orthodox cd that includes JB Lenoir, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Jimmy Reed, Willie Dixon and Muddy Waters covers, plus three Tonky and four Paul own songs, plus a couple of instrumentals They alternate on vocals singing in English and Spanish To record Pawn Shop Blues they did not use amplifiers or overdubs and they only played with Tonky de la Peña’s Martin D28 and Paul Orta’s Honner harps The result is an splendid album, that is to say, a cool delicious genuine and relaxing cd
