    Valoración: VERY GOOD

With a very personal guitar technique, Paul Filipowicz learned guitar listenning to the great blues masters like Howling Wolf, Muddy Waters or Hound Dog Taylor who really impressed him This made him to drink on the same sources and try to copy the styles of Magic Sam, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, Jimmy Dawkins, Luther Allison or Sammy Lawhorn With all this baggage, Paul decided to begin his way for the long music roads Since then on he has spent more than 25 years becoming experienced in south and west-side Chicago blues playing in hundred of clubs, bars, taverns, festivals, cruises, festivals and so on The three cds offer the same style, flamming roadhouse-blues and house-rockin’ played with a deep energy that will hurt the deepest part of all blues lovers hearts The first cd ‘Go for the throat’ gives us a very ‘greasy’ hard raw sound ‘Never Had It So Good’ follows the same line that the first one but perhaps you will find it more temperate and fine because the selection of tunes has been done following more fine parameters Also the organ provides a very appropiate support on slow-blues The third cd ‘What You Have Done For Me Lately’ is more intense and spontaneous (this does not mean that the two other cds are not intense because if there is something that Paul is plenty of is intensity) Danny Miller’s harp has the right overdrive to perfectly combine with Paul’s style The result: three good cds, honestly played, that will certainly satisfy hose-rockin’ blues lovers and specially ‘garage’ sound lovers
