Although Paul Black was raised in a religious family that deeply loved gospel and country music, Paul listened to rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith or AC/DC. However, it wasn’t until a friend gave him a copy of Jimi Hendrix’s album “Are Your Experienced” and he also saw Stevie Ray Vaughan playing live, that he decided to explore and learn more about the blues, discovering artists like Albert King, Buddy Guy, Gary Moore, Taj Mahal, John Lee Hooker or T-Bone Walker. From that moment on, he was member of several blues bands, where he began to learn the music, he deeply loved.

In 2010 Paul released his second album that allowed him to be well known in his own country Canada, but also to do some tours around Europe and USA, captivating with his music and his fiery performing the most varied audiences.

Last March, Paul Black released a new album with ten own compositions plus a cover of the song “Brick House” coming from The Commodores. All the songs are framed within blues-rock and acoustic soul styles, always with a touch of funk. Besides showing he is an excellent guitar, bass and harmonica player, as well as a remarkable singer and songwriter, Paul is perfectly backed by Wynn Gogol on Hammond organ, drummers Malcolm Cooley and Curtis Lieppi and the backing vocals of Sarah Smith and Carrie-Ann Lieppi, who contribute to develop a more than interesting and really powerful recording.
