After recording her first album in 2013 and honored as Best Female Vocalist by Night Life Magazine Blues Awards, the life of singer Patti Parks was going on playing in clubs or festivals and also working on the Nurs’ N Blues Educational Program she developed to help children on risk of drug dependence. She was always acclaimed everywhere she performed which encouraged her to present herself at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. Kenny Neal was there too and he was impressed by her powerful vocal qualities, so he immediately signed her to his Booga Music label, as well as bringing her to his Baton Rouge studios to record this album he has just released in collaboration with Vizztone record label. Although there are only eight songs, they allow us to discover the talent, strength and feeling this powerful singer has been endowed with, she always communicates with an amazing expressiveness. Patti is backed by a magnificent band where Kenny Neal plays harmonica, guitar and puts his voice in a track, Carlton Ross is on rhythm guitar, Arlando O’Connor on bass in seven cuts, Frederick Neal on keyboards in one song, Brandon Adams and Guy Nirelli on keyboards and organ, Michael Harris on drums and Jason Parfait on tenor sax in one track. Patti’s stunning, sensual and warm voice feels really comfortable along a repertoire where blues, Memphis soul and funky blues prevail.
