Pat Ramsey is well known as one of Johnny Winter’s musicians who backed him at the end of the seventies but specially for his amazing harmonica contribution in White, Hot and Blue album Born in Shrevenport, Louisiana, he began to play harp when he was only seventeen years old and two years later, he was member of a band called ‘Bunny Brooks Band’ Rick Derringer felt really impressed when he saw him playing and he immediately introduced him to Johnny Winter It’s About Time is his first solo album, where he clearly shows his personal vision of performing blues Evidently Pat is not an old school purist, as he gives his personal style and an own conceptual actual vision of the musical phrasing and tone Thirteen varied songs where Julien Kasper guitar brightly combines with tasteful harmonica playing and both musicians, perfectly backed with the rest on the band, build up splendid songs with not a single bad minute on them The second and more recent cd, brings Ramsey with his own band ‘The Blues Disciples’ recorded live from ‘Big Bend Blues Bash Club’ in Pomeroy, Ohio and includes Dave Renson on guitar, John Wentzien on bass ans Steve Howell on drums All together produce a powerful tough record, with passages of deep feeling and mastery playing who, sometimes, remind me brothers Mark, Patrick and Robben Ford
