Here comes an album by a new blues value. His name is Nic Clark and, although he began his musical career at age 12 as a harmonica player in jam sessions and backing the most outstanding Colorado area musicians, now he is also a more than a remarkable guitar player and singer.

Influenced by artists like Taj Mahal, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles or Hound Dog Taylor, he has shared stage with John Neméth, Jason Ricci, Billy Branch or Rick Estrin, as well as being a young finalist at the International Blues Challenge in 2012 and 2014.

The album gathers twelve songs written by Nicolas Clark, except “Try To Understand” he has cowritten with Nick Amodeo, “Don’t Count Yourself Out” cowritten with Andrew Schicke and finally “Good Advice”, coming from J.B. Lenoir. All songs are developed with great honesty, on a quite simple way, with lyrics that express different stories and feelings in a plain concise language, that talk about his family experiences, illnesses and problems of those people disinherited by society, topics Nic is very concerned about.

Musically speaking, the album songs include blues, country, roots music and ballad. Nic Clark is on guitar, harmonica and vocals, he plays with good taste, Charlie Hunter on guitar and bass and George Sluppick on drums, plus the contribution of two guests, DaShawn Hickman on pedal steel guitar and Wendy Hickman on backing vocals.
