Nathan James comes back with two cds that show two different facets of his huge talent Two sides of the same coin of his musical knowledge, the first one performed on acoustic solo format, while in the second he plays together with his usual band, The Rhythm Scratchers, plus some guest musicians The first album Hear Me Calling will delight traditional acoustic blues fans, because it includes a mixture of Delta and country blues, ragtime, Piedmont and even some more gospel inspired songs, all played with original acoustic instruments, where it should be underlined a homemade guitar James has made with an old washboard In this cd Nathan becomes a one man band playing all the instruments at the same time The second album entitled Natural Born That Way presents a mixture of New Orleans rhythm and blues, swamp pop, early 60’s soul and rockin’ juke joint blues The band is pure dynamite, the musicians are really well teamed and produce a wild dynamic excellent sound For more than six years, Nathan and his band have developed a unique spontaneous sound that makes them different from other similar bands An special mention to a couple of deluxe guest musicians like Carl Sonny Leyland on piano and Big Jon Atkinson on guitar This double digipack will bring you nothing than true and high quality blues
