The most original Chicago blues comes on the hands of singer and bass player Nate Turner Some unforgettable recording sessions where he was backed by such great musicians like Lurrie Bell on guitar, Steve Bell on harp, Melvin Robertson on piano, or James Bell on drums among other well known artists all them representing the most traditional Chicago blues style Before becoming a bass player, Nate did his first steps on blues as harp player he learned to play practising with a neighbour In 1965 he moved from Miami to Chicago and there he decided to play bass He joined The Chicago Playboys and worked with them for about three years, playing around Chicago West and South Side In 1967 Jimmy Dawkins asked him to become a member of his band and he stayed with Jimmy for about two years Since then on he has worked with different artists and bands such as Koko Taylor, Lovie Lee or Johnny Dollar In this cd Nate Turner gives us the best of himself, with a passionate intense performing that only the great bluesmen can spontaneously provide
