Nancy Wright is one of the most requested sax women players in the blues, soul, Americana music and rhythm and blues scene, both for live shows as for collaborations in different recordings She has often been compared with Noble Thin Man Watts, King Curtis or Junior Walker In this album Nancy decided to give free rein to all the music that, over the years, has most captivated her, giving her fun and satisfaction So she thought to count with the collaboration of big names and friends of West Coast scene, like producer and guitarist Kid Andersen, guitar players Tommy Castro, Elvin Bishop, Joe Louis Walker, Mike Schermer and Chris Cain, singers Frank Bey, Wee Willie Walker and Terrie Odaby and keyboard players Victor Wainwright and Jim Pugh among other great musicians who collaborate along the thirteen songs that combine Nancy’s own songs together with less known ones coming from composers like Harper-Royal, Shaw Mr Glover, Price-David or Carson and finally one by her mentor Lonnie Mack that was not published up to date With such a cast of musicians, the result is really rewarding and appealing This is a varied album with a wide range of peculiar sounds of an extraordinary quality, which will leave more than one dumbstruck
