Although My Own Holiday consider themselves as a blues-rock duo, their music denies it, because they have many and diverse influences It is quite uncommon to listen to a duo simply formed by guitar, voice, and drums Both come from the San Francisco Bay area and have always been receptive to the musical trends of a so cosmopolitan and in fashion place, although they live on a peaceful bucolic corner In fact guitarist, composer and singer Joey Chrisman began writing songs when he was a sixth-grade student and, through the years, his hobby helped him to create his own style that has become the way to express his songs and his more than interesting lyrics His musical influences come from classic rock, post-punk, pop and even Dylan’s folk, but always performed in a dark and quite dangerous way Drummer Nick Bartolo has perfectly caught the vision of his musical partner, providing the necessary beat and rhythm to emphasize the drama that comes out from each and every one of the songs included in the album
