Despite he is son of legendary Muddy Waters, Mud Morganfield has developed his own personality and an intense career. Of course, to compare him with his father is usual, because Mud always pays homage to that great icon who was his father, reproducing his sound, similar inflections and vocal tone.

Mud grew musically at a time when soul, rhythm and blues and Motown sound were popular all over the world. At that time our man was playing bass in various bands which performed the hits of that time, developing a unique tasteful style.

Now Delmark Records releases this album (Mud’s first one for this label) with twelve already published songs plus two previously unreleased ones. All of them have been completely remastered and show all the power, strength and intensity Morganfield is able to give to each song. And, if this was not enough, the album includes a group of first-class musicians like Rick Kreher, Billy Flynn, Mike Wheeler, E.G. McDaniel, Kenny Smith, Barrelhouse Chuck, Luca Chiellini, Bob Corritore or Harmonica Hinds among others.

An impressive recording by a man who, despite his charismatic name, has managed to build up his own identity and music style, always filled with soul and Chicago blues.
