Muddy Waters is always remembered as one of Chicago blues greatest names who popularized this style all over the world. Thanks to Muddy, the blues was discovered and known by a whole generation of young white people who worshipped his name and contributed to expand the genre.

Fortunately, the saga continues with his eldest son Mud Morganfield, who is committed to the mission of keeping real Chicago blues alive, not only covering some of the songs that his father used to perform but also presenting a variety of his own songs that keep the same Muddy Waters’ spirit and intensity

Mud recalls that his father always encouraged him to develop his musical talent, that he started playing a drum set he had at home that his father gave him. Later, he changed the drums for the bass, an instrument he played for thirty years as a semi-professional musician. It wasn’t until his father’s death that Mud realized that he had to do something to carry on his legacy, so in the 2000’s he started to sing in the same style than Muddy, recording his first album in 2008, causing a great impact among fans who saw in him a Muddy Waters’ reincarnation.

Mud Morganfield is now an artist gifted with his own personality who has managed to follow in his father’s footsteps but, at the same time, has made his own path and evolved as a musician.

This album features fourteen songs, twelve of them Mud’s own compositions, plus two songs taken from his father’s repertoire, “Strange Woman” and “Country Boy”. Although the spirit of Muddy Waters is present in all songs, Mud has also added his own personality to them. To do so, he has counted with a group of great Chicago musicians like, among others, Rick Kreher on guitar, Melvin “Pooky Styx” Carlisle on drums, Studebaker John on harmonica E.C. McDaniel on bass, Sumito Ariyo Ariyoshi and Roosevelt Purifoy on piano or Rodrigo Mantovani on double bass.
