Settled in Canada, Mr Rick grew up in Detroit, Michigan, where his great passion was to listen to those suggestive 50’s night radio shows which made him discover the new sounds of swing, blues, rhythm and blues, rock ‘n’ roll and country music in all its forms and varieties, from old time music to western swing or bluegrass Today Mr Rick has become a more than a remarkable singer and an interesting guitar player, especially in fingerpicking technique, who likes to revive the traditional songbook of southern music and perform them with some own original arrangements that are not usual among other players This is his third album, which includes thirteen songs deeply rooted in blues, Americana and country & western, putting the strength on his special distinctive way of playing both acoustic and electric guitars Besides the usual instruments like guitars, bass and drums, you will also find clarinet and violin This is a recommended album for southern traditional music lovers, a kind of music that was popular during last century thirties and forties
