Moonshine Society is the project of three students who met at Berklee College Of Music in Boston, Massachusetts Their similar musical tastes led them to give shape to a band that paid homage to deep soulful blues, roots rock and vintage rhythm and blues, sometimes with a New Orleans accent Since then on they have not stopped to grow up, get success and share stage with many of the greatest blues names After the good reception of their first recording, Moonshine Society releases a new album with nine songs and a bonus track that let us discover and appreciate their undeniable and huge quality Black Betty’s powerful, effective and incredible voice leads with self-confidence and strength all the songs that round up the album, together with Joe Poppen on guitar, Todd Ellsworth on bass and Rodney Dunton on drums For the recording they have also counted with the valuable collaboration of Jason Ricci on harmonica, Wes Lanich on keyboards and a powerful a horn section with baritone sax, tenor sax and trumpet Both Black Betty and Joe Poppen have been inducted into the Blues Hall Of Fame, which confirms we are facing a high quality band and a bright album, which will certainly not leave you indifferent
