Undoubtedly during post-war period Chicago was the most emblematic city for blues harmonica players However, at the end of the fifties, this instrument became very popular in West Coast area too, where there came out such amazing harmonica players like George Harmonica Smith, Rod Piazza, William Clarke or Kim Wilson As the years were passing by new names burst in like Mitch Kashmar, who took up with his five senses all the knowledge of those masters, developing a unique and personal style both with the harmonica and with his voice, which got very peculiar vocal inflections All this led him to become one of the most prominent West Coast blues names This is his third studio album for Delta Groove, where Mitch pays tribute to the legacy of jump blues sound, thanks to some extremely well selected covers together with own compositions that communicate the essence of the most actual West Coast blues Mitch is perfectly backed by some amazing musicians like Junior Watson on guitar, Fred Kaplan on piano and Hammond, Bill Stuve on double bass and Marty Dodson on drums As it can’t be otherwise, with such a deluxe band, the result is a magnificent sublime album Let me only say I am sure you will avidly enjoy and savour it from the beginning to the end
