Mississippi MacDonald is a London singer and guitar player who certainly deserves he is taken into account in actual blues scene.

In November 1991 and only aged eleven he was able to see Chuck Berry playing live. He was impressed by the sound of his cherry-red Gibson 335 and immediately decided he had to play that music. Without telling his parents, he spent all his savings to buy a guitar and started to practice, first playing rock ‘n’ roll and then going to the blues.

MacDonald has traveled countless times to USA where he has personally met guys like Al Green, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King, Pinetop Perkins, Otis Clay or Sam Moore. It was the great Big Joe Turner who recommended him to listen to Albert King who really impressed him. All these experiences have forged the musical personality of an artist who now publishes his sixth album that includes eight own blues and a version of Denise LaSalle’s song entitled “Your Wife Is Cheating On Us”. In this recording MacDonald has gathered all the sound and sense of Memphis blues and soul, surrounded by Phil Dearing on keyboards and guitar, Elliot Boughen on bass and Mark Johnson-Brown on drums, as well as a compact horn section and the backing vocals of Lucy Dearing.

Warm, firm, energetic and intense guitar sound by Mississippi MacDonald in the path of Albert King to delight of those of you who get a copy.
