It is always gratifying to listen to real Chicago blues, especially when they are well performed and given to us with tons of soul and deep feeling. The Mississippi Heat is leaded by singer and harmonica player Pierre Lacoque who, in this album, only plays harp. Inetta Visor leads the vocals with a living expressive sexy voice and Lurrie Bell also sings in a couple of tracks and plays guitar as sideman along “One Eye Open” cd. The album was recorded live at Chicago Rosa’s Lounge on July, 18th 2005 and keeps live and cool the genuine spirit of the hot raw blues usually played on those small Windy City blues clubs.
