Excellent show from one of the most outstanding original Chicago blues bands They have a personal innovative approach to blues but at the same time they do not lose a hint of the traditional sound that could be heard forty years ago The band was founded about 1991 by harmonica player Pierre Lacocque and since then he has got as band members some of best Chicago blues musicians like Zora Young, Ken Saydak, Carl Weathersby, Deitra Farr, Barrelhouse Chuck, Bob Stroger, Billy Boy Arnold, Billy Flynn, Robert Covington or James Wheeler among others The Mississippi Heat have toured around the world, from Venezuela to Canada, in Europe from Germany to Switzerland, Netherlands, Spain, France, Belgium or Norway Pierre Lacocque was caught by the blues in 1969, when aged seventeen, left Israel and settled in Chicago There he discovered Walter Horton, Little Walter, Junior Wells, James Cotton and Carey Bell who deeply impressed him Today, together with his Mississippi Heat, he is one of the most respected ‘windy city’ harmonica players The DVD was recorded live at Chicago Rosa’s Lounge and shows Pierre on harp, Inetta Vison on vocals, Lurrie Bell on guitar and vocals, Max Valldeneu on guitar, Chris Cameron on keyboards, Spurling Banks on bass and Willie ‘Big Eyes’ Smith’s son, Kenny Smith, on drums Eleven excellent songs with the best Chicago blues flavour that will awake the passion of this blues style loves but specially among the huge crowd of fans they have all over the world
