Passionate, inspired but, at the same time, a melodic harmonica player, Pierre Lacocque openly leads with an iron hand Mississippi Heat band, where he is the inspired and visible head This new and latest work brings eleven own songs, three of them by the band’s guitarist Michael Dotson who also sings them, plus two covers, Don’t Mess Up a Good Thing and Smooth Operator All of these songs drive us to an extensive tour where vintage low down Chicago blues, Delta blues, Latin rhythms and rhythm & blues ballads come together in the songs included in the album This broad black music range of sounds rounds up a cool, fun, pleasant and joyful recording This is his sixth studio album for Chicago label Delmark Records and, as usual, the band sounds really teamed and juicy, thanks to the excellent work of Pierre on harmonica, Inneta Viewer on vocals, Michael Dotson on vocals and guitar, Giles Corey on guitar too, Brian Quinn on bass and double bass and Terrence Williams on drums, who are joined by some very special guests such as Ricky Nelson, Kenny Smith, Chris Hambone Cameron, Sumito Ariyo, Dave Specter, Ruben Alvarez and Sax Gordon This is a more than recommendable album that will give delight and satisfaction to all those who look for vey good performed blues
