300 Miles to Memphis is the new work of a not much known band so far although I hope from now on they will start to gain a place in the overview of the new musical groups they are emerging now in USA The band includes singer and guitarist Brent Barker, bass player Ted May and his brother Tom May on drums The group was created in 2009, although the three musicians became friends more than twenty-five years ago and even they occasionally played together in Los Angeles area It is always a challenge to record an album only including guitar, bass, and drums because the musicians should have quality enough and great commitment to fill with content all songs but, although The Mississippi Fever have counted with the collaboration of three good musicians like Steve Grimmes and Rick Steff on keyboards and Brandon Santini on harmonica, this does not mean the trio sounds less convincing If you like southern rock, ZZ Top or the rock of Grand Funk Railroad, then I dare say that, in spite of the obvious differences, this album will probably satisfy you
