Blues played from the deepest part of the heart with the mastery elegance of two first class emotional and technical musicians Felix Slim comes from Ceuta and he is gifted with a natural skill to play guitar He really knows all blues styles and he is an expert of fingerpickin’ guitar, which allows him to get old Piedmont bluesmen repertoire back and play rags with great effectiveness and talent As a singer he is convincing, despite his particular way of speaking English, though his phonetics are excellent Gifted with an enviable technique, Mingo Balaguer learned to play harmonica when he was only eleven years old, and now I believe he can be placed among the top five Spanish blues harmonica players Mingo’s career is perhaps the longest and widest ones of Spanish blues scene For more than three decades he has been touring around our country, participating in different groups, projects and other blues stories The long list of first-row harp musicians he has played with, includes so prominent names like Charlie Musselwhite, Carey Bell, Gary Primich, Sugar Ray Norcia, Bruce Ewan, Jerry Portnoy or Paul Lamb Finally mention Mingo is also a convincing restrained singer Personally I think this album is among the best acoustic blues ones made in Spain
