If blues followers thought Mingo Balaguer could no longer surprise them again with a new album that would exceed all their expectations, they were completely wrong In this new recording Mingo not only shows that maturity and experience are a degree but, the most important thing is that he still has many good things to give to the national and international blues scene This last album shows he has get the same level than American musicians and bands for the outstanding quality, careful song selection and the excellent recording production and mixing The album features eleven varied songs that move along the styles Mingo feels comfortable and likes to play like Chicago and West Coast blues, boogie and even Texas Blues Mingo blows the harmonica with a terrific swing and a deep fat tone, as well as singing with a precisely good taste And, if all that was not enough, he is surrounded with a group of excellent musicians like guitar players Pablo Sanpa and Kid Carlos, Paul San Martín on piano, Oriol Fontanals on bass and double bass, Gullaume Destarac on drums and Alain Sancho on sax, this last one in the songs You’re Nearly Killing Me and Party Animal With this new album Mingo and the rest of the musicians confirm the vitality and quality of national blues which certainly deserves all blues lovers recognition First class blues made in Spain can we ask for more?
