Galician to the core, Miki Nervio and his fellows give us a blues master class that comes from the deepest part of their souls They do a respectful warm performing and show a wide knowledge, not only about musical language but also about the concepts and history of the particular style they do All them excellent musicians, The Bluesmakers collect on a simple cool and pleasant way some of the repertoire, string street bands and medicine minstrel shows used to do The scent and spirit of those old bands in fashion at the beginning of last Century, are found on the band musicians good job, always done with admiration and respect to the music they play Different instruments like washboard, double bass, kazoo, banjo, or mandoline are cleverly combined on classic songs like It Don’t Mean A Thing or Wastin’ My Time No More –a traditional tune where they have included their own arrangements-, besides other beautiful songs you will be gradually discovering for your pleasure Fifteen or sixteen years have gone passing by since the band was formed in 1992 Let’s hope this cd will only be the beginning of a long productive musical career, at least is what Spanish blues, fans and myself wish them
