Mike Zito has just released a double album recorded live from the Old Rock House in Saint Louis, Missouri. For Mike to come back to Saint Louis has been like coming home, as he began his career as a musician in that city. To do that amazing show Mike decided to invite two musicians he began to play with for years along most of the clubs of the area who made him grow as a musician, guitar players Tony Campanella and Dave Kalz. The rest of the band included Matthew Johnson on drums and vocals, Doug Byrkit on bass and vocals and Lewis Stephens on piano and organ. He also invited Eric Gales who actually was in town, to play Jimi Hendrix’s song “Voodoo Chile”.

This double album has no waste. Zito and the musicians who surround him work their heart out giving the best of themselves. As usual, Mike Zito’s songs are framed into the most pure roadhouse blues-rock, always showing the good work of an artist who knows how to bring out all the energy and strength he communicates when he gets his way with the guitar on hands.

The seventeen songs collection come from some of his previous recordings like “First Class Life”, Gone To Texas”, Make Blues Not War” or “Tribute To Chuck Berry”, together with some versions of songs popularized by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tampa Red or Jimi Hendrix, also including a new own composition that gives tittle to the album.
