Guitar player and singer Mike Bourne has now an extensive experience he has gathered in countless shows he has performed around the world. On stage he is a real entertainer who cleverly combines jump blues, blues and roots music, since the very moment he started his career in 1988. He has also recorded and backed such great musicians like Otis Rush, Sam Lay or Barrelhouse Chuck among many others, collecting influences from Chicago and Atlanta blues. However, it is in Kansas where he has forged his own sound, which is strongly based on Kansas City blues with influences from rhythm & blues, jazz and 50’s rock ‘n’ roll.

With all this baggage behind him, Mike presents his last album that includes thirteen songs that become a tribute to all the musicians who have been his mentors and have helped him to be an artist of an undeniable quality.

For the recording Mike Bourne has surrounded himself by the musicians of his band, the Kansas City Boogie, plus a series of special guests and good friends such as guitarist Johnny Burgin, keyboardists Dave Creighton and Johnny Iguana, John Paul Drum and the late Big D. Erickson on harmonica, Mickey Muñoz of the Hoodoo Brothers on drums or Greg Hopkins, trumpeter in Buddy Rich’s orchestra.

An album that brings listeners a good dose of quality, good work, blues knowledge and professionalism in each and every one of the songs, something that makes evident Mike Bourne is now an excellent guitar player and a good singer who deserves an outstanding place in the actual blues scene.
