Mike Broomfield was one of the most charismatic interesting United States white blues guitar players and a pioneer of this musical style Although he had a short career –he died when he was only thirty-seven years old due to alcohol and drugs abuse- his recording legacy is long, rich and full of good albums Prescription For The Blues includes ten interesting recorded live songs Although it is not his best recording, Michael shows on it why he was and still is considered a guitar virtuoso with a warm phrasing, usual in his particular way of playing blues You will find him on piano as well, on a varied pleasing set of songs The versions of Hully Gully, Don’t You Lie To Me, Junko Partner or Cherry Reed are really amazing and show an inspired bright Mike Broomfield
