Electrifying rocky blues, where terrific demolishing Microwave Dave guitar phrasing ooze soul and strength Both in the own songs and In the couple of ‘covers’ the trio play in this album, have been done under the vision of a power blues band with Microwave on guitar, vocals and drums in a song, backed by Rick Godfrey bass and harmonica in a song too and James Irvin drums and percussion While it might seem a power blues trio may sound flat, the true thing is they have got numerous rich nuances and different sounds ranging from Hendrix’ reminiscences to some arrangements with an air of Spanish music, like in the song Vagabundos, where Dave even allows himself to speak Spanish Finally let me say to those of you who are not familiar with singer and guitar player Microwave Dave, he was born in Chicago but grew up in Texas, served in the Vietnam, studied music at the Berklee Shool of Music, Johnny Shines taught him everything he should learn about blues, in 1989 founded his own group The Nukes and for three years he backed Jerry ‘Boogie’ McCain
