Ain’t Bad Yet is the sixth album of the Finnish blues-rock band Micke Bjorklof & Blue Strip Winners of 2015 Finnish blues awards in best band category, this new work has been produced by John Porter, the legendary producer of some Buddy Guy, BB King, Taj Mahal, Keb Mo’ or Santana records, who has also more that ten records awarded with a Grammy Award In October 2014 the band travelled to Rockfield studios in Wales, the impressive studios where have also recorded some of the most important rock artists like Black Sabbath, Rush or Oasis which, in 1975 were also the first studios used by Queen to record Bohemian Rhapsody, one of the greatest pop albums of all times Blue Strip leader, singer and guitar player Micke Bjorklof is an experienced musician who knows how to give the most actual, dynamic and wrapping air to all the compositions he plays, where the blues always sounds attractive and reliable and, sometimes, with a breath of industrial music On the second album the environment is totally different It was recorded three years ago by Micke Bjorklof but, this time, in a trio format Besides, Micke leaves guitar and vocals to play drums, percussion and harmonica The two musicians who share the recording are the charismatic Lefty who plays all string instruments and alternates on vocals with electric and acoustic bass player Chef To close the trilogy of these albums released by Hokahey! label, comes Lumberjacks, a band which includes again bass player and singer Chef, who is backed by Urmas ‘Big Hand’ Niemi on vocals and guitars, Janne Käpilä on drums, percussion and vocals and Jarkko Salo on vocals and keyboards They give us a wide range of coloured music, full of nuances and tonalities, that move along the most sophisticated and warm blues, seasoned with a light and fragrant pop, together with a well teamed vocal arrangements in the path of sixties ‘mersey beat’ English bands, performed with an attentive gaze in the most actual trends, although the album is the oldest one of these three ones, as it was published five years ago
