From his young days singing at the church choir, Mick Schafer was aware his life would always be connected to music, although in fact he was not able to devote full time to it till now.

In the seventies he travelled around Europe where he played for tips on the streets. Back to USA he had to work in different jobs, to earn enough money to support his family and his adopted son Chris, something he had to do for twenty years, leaving aside his musical facet.

Since the moment Chris went into the Navy, Mick felt finally free to start his career as a guitar player, singer and songwriter as front man of Blackberry Jam group. In 2017 he founded his own band with some of the best blues musicians of Portland, Oregon, scene.

This album has been recorded for Lightning In A Bottle label and Mick Schafer has recruited two interesting high-level musicians like guitar player Ken “Willie” Scandlyn and drummer Jimi Bott. The result is an album with nine songs that clearly show the passion and respect for blues Mick Schafer has always felt, something you will immediately realize in this recording, which has finally made true the dream he had since he was a child, and was to devote his life to perform the music he most likes.
