Mick Kolassa is a prolific singer and guitar player who always surprises listeners with his new albums, because he usually displays an excellent technique and good taste as a composer as well as selecting the songs for his albums.

This time he has decided to release an acoustic recording. His aim is to show that an album like this one can sound and be as complete as one performed with electrified instruments, because to play acoustic blues doesn’t mean it has to be poor and with no substance. Also, and according to his own words, acoustic instruments provide him great creativity and freedom to express himself.

Mick is surrounded by some excellent musicians like his long-time collaborator and friend Jeff Jensen on guitar and slide, Rick Steff on piano and accordion, Carl Casperson on bass and double bass and Tom Lonardo on drums, as well as some deluxe guests like harmonica players Bob Corritore, Eric Hughes and Vince Johnson, guitar players Doug MacLeod and Tas Cru and the backing voices of Libby Rae Watson, Reba Russell and Susan Marshall.

Ten Mick’s own compositions plus the version of “Baby Took A Limo To Memphis” coming from Guy Clark, where Mick performs a duet with Libby Rae Watson, round up the album. In all songs Kolassa and his musicians devote themselves to create more than to play a repertoire full of good and interesting moments.
