Singer and guitar player Michael Powers was born in Bayonne, NJ in 1952 Since he was a young boy, he used to work at Silver Moon, a restaurant his parents ran The restaurant was crowded with sailors who came from Liverpool, England and brought 45 rpm British blues records, from Fleetwood Mac to Alexis Korner or Savoy Brown The young Michael enjoyed that music and he gradually catched the spirit of it, while he was also learning to play guitar and sing After meeting Jimmy Reed and James Cotton, who were his early mentors, Michael Powers decided to devote his life to the blues Since then on and for more than forty years, he has done a non-stop music career playing blues in every place he has been booked This album presents Michael Powers’ vocal and performing abilities, as he has got quality enough to show an intense emotional feeling Thirteen songs where Michael and his band musicians combine Powers’ own songs with four covers coming from Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Jimi Hendrix and Willie Dixon
