Michael Bram is a real ‘crack’, a versatile and able multi-instrumentalist. Here he plays harmonica, percussion, mandolin, rhythm guitar, sings and, of course, his main and usual instrument, drums. You will also find Dave Gross on guitars, bass, double bass and reed organ, Cindy Cashdollar (‘the rich man of the band’), steel and lap-steeel guitars, Jeremy Baum, Hammond B-3 and piano, Matt Cowan baritone saxo and clarinet and Jon-Erik Kellso trumpet, together with several guest musicians in some songs. The album is a mixture of original tunes, all Michael’s own compositions, which cleverly and tastefully combine blues, country and roots Americana music. The result is difficult to describe in words, but I can tell you he has reached a huge really exciting quality level. The cd is a varied piece of work that covers a wide range of sonorities and deeply explores blues and country music with an amazing skill, always from a courageous daring point of view.
