For all those who are not familiar with this musician, only mention Michael Bloom is a Chicago singer, guitar player and composer who knows how to tastefully combine the most genuine blues with his own compositions always with a complete reliability In his music you will find different elements that have deeply influenced him like the blues of Robert Johnson, Jimmy Reed, Mississippi John Hurt, BB King, Otis Rush, Muddy Waters or Little Milton, elements that form a mixture which makes that his blues communicate an original flavor On this new album Michael is joined in some tracks by singers Mary Lane and Kristina Leeper, Eleven songs round up the recording, eight Michael Bloom’s own compositions and the rest a tribute to Furry Lewis, Johnny Copeland and Robert Johnson In Bloom’s own words, blues is life and life is the blues This is the prophetic message our man and his band want to spread to all those fans who believe in their music Could anyone disagree with such a claim? I certainly don’t
