Mel Brown is previously mentioned guitar player who backed Harmonica Shah in his last cd. This time he leads his own last recording, the first one after recording “Neck Bones & Caviar” in 2000 that made him won a W.C. Handy Award. Ten own songs plus a Stevie Wonder’s cover is what you will find on this new piece of work where Mel sets him up as an undisputed leader giving us after more than five years of silence, a complete tasteful exposure of his rich musical maturity always giving the best of himself. Mel also sings and plays keyboards in three songs. The rest of the excellent musicians who back him are John Lee on keyboards, Al Richardson on bass and Jim Boudreau on drums. Mel Brown plays what he feels and how he feels it. This is one of the principal reasons this cd will not let you indifferent.
