Although guitar player Matt Backer is best known as a studio session musician as he has collaborated with such popular artists like Julian Lennon, Emmylou Harris or Elton John, he has also developed a solo career that allows us to appreciate his skill and good qualities as a singer, guitar player and composer.

This is his fifth album recorded under his own name where he shows in detail some of his multiple facets in songs that present a variety of styles and well-defined forms, ranging from blues to jazz, rock, pop, and even grunge, without forgetting the slide guitar he mastery performs. In all these genres Matt feels comfortable, revealing himself as an accomplished, versatile and effective artist, both in the most melodic songs, as well as in the more rocky ones.

Thirteen own compositions plus the versions of “Middle Class White Boy” coming from Mose Allison and “I Wish You Would” by Billy Boy Arnold, this last one together with Sarah-Jane Morris (The Communards), give shape to this recording where Matt Backer is surrounded by drummers Randy Morrow and Jim Kimberley, bass player Andy Carr and Rob Hughes on horns.
