When I was younger than now, I liked to frantically jump and dance in all house parties I used to go, but this only happened when a jump blues band or a Chicago blues group (like in this case) had swing and twist enough to keep me up from a chair or a comfortable sofa After several years without getting that feeling, now Martin Lang has awakened me from my lethargy to give me a new life and make me wildly move and drag my feet on the living room parquet, as if I was again a teenager with a face spotted with acne The amplified harmonica of Mr Lang sounds colourful, strong, powerful and flamboyant along this Chicago blues session of pure and essential south side blues, together with an able band who know to play blues as few people perform it now in the Windy City The harmonica and voice of Martin Lang is backed by guitar players Billy Flynn and Rockin’ Johnny Burgin, bass players Jimmy Upstairs and Yoshimi Hirata, drummers Dean Haas and Rob Lorenz and singers Tail Dragger and Willie Buck This is a fantastic amazing album, filled with the best and most rhythmic shuffle patterns, together with some slow down blues So… enjoy It fellows!!
